LinkZip – URL Shortener & QR

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 21, 2026 · Mehdi Technologies Pvt. Ltd.

Summary

1. Who we are

LinkZip ("the app") is developed by Mehdi Technologies Pvt. Ltd. ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app uses, why, and the choices you have.

2. Information stored only on your device

The following data stays on your phone and is not sent to us:

Wi-Fi and contact (vCard) QR codes can contain passwords or personal details. They are not saved to history unless you turn this on in Settings.

3. Information shared with third-party services

Link shortening

When you tap "Shorten URL", the link you entered is sent to a public shortening service so it can create the short link. Depending on availability, this may be is.gd, v.gd, TinyURL, da.gd or CleanURI. These services receive the link and standard connection data (such as your IP address), and their own privacy policies apply. Do not shorten links that contain private information.

Link expander

To show where a link leads, the app connects to that link and to each address it redirects to, over secure HTTPS connections only. Those websites receive a standard request from your device. Pages are not opened, and the destination is never opened automatically.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version of LinkZip shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To show, measure and limit ads, and to prevent fraud, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location, and information about how you interact with ads and the app. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown, and you can change your choice anytime in Settings → Ad privacy options. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings.

In-app purchases (Google Play)

"Remove Ads" and "LinkZip Pro" are one-time purchases processed by Google Play. We do not receive your payment details. Google Play tells the app which purchases your account owns so it can unlock them.

4. Clipboard

LinkZip reads your clipboard only when you tap Paste, or, if you turn on Clipboard detection in Settings (off by default), when you open the Home screen. Clipboard content is never stored or sent anywhere except as part of a link you choose to shorten.

5. Permissions

6. Security

All connections made by the app use HTTPS encryption. Data stored on your device is protected by Android's app sandbox. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we design the app to keep as little data as possible.

7. Your choices and deleting your data

Because we do not collect your history on any server, we have no copy of it to access, change or delete.

8. Children

LinkZip is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app changes. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
